Emerald City.
We've been in flight for about five hours now, and the pilot comes on the speaker announcing that we are preparing to land. This flight went quite fast, as we had entertainment to watch and music to listen to. Seattle is 3 hours behind Detroit time, and so we arrive at 630 p.m. Seattle time, 9:30 Detroit time. We have to wait for our bags, and catch an Uber to Brenna's. Getting to Brenna's, it's about 8 pm. Michael and I are hungry, and lucky for us, so is Brenna and Parker.
If you've ever traveled in time zones like this, you are well aware of the jet lag. The best way I've come to describe it is, everyone is moving at a normal pace, and you can hear, see and experience everything in a lag. It's like a lucid dream, where you are just observing and slow to respond.
At dinner we have amazing Thai food, and enjoy the first bit that Seattle has to offer. Little did we know that we would love this city by the end of our five day visit. From the unique architecture, the coffee culture and all the delicious cuisine, you really cannot go wrong with Seattle.
Spending time with Brenna is alway a blast. Brenna and I have so many memories from our wild youth, learning and new experiences together. Seeing your friends go on and live great lives is such an amazing feeling. So many times did I think, "Brenna deserves this, I am so happy for her". There are certain people in your life who are always so true to themselves, and are honest true friends. Brenna is that.
Michael and I had many little errands to run as this was our last stop in the States for who knows how long. Having this kind of layover was just what we needed to get our bearings and celebrate what is to come within our new adventure. As we used the public transit to get around, this was our first taste of life without our own vehicle. It was freeing and helped place you in the moment, having to be aware of the time of when a bus will come and enjoying the ride.
Making it into town we wandered around, finding comfort in our favorite spot back home, Whole Foods. The Whole Foods was even "cool", featuring a burrito bar and just a new set up that felt exciting for us. We walked and walked, made it to the Space Needle and lounged in the grass with coffees in hand. This feels right.
Being a hairdresser is awesome, especially when your friends let you play with their hair. Brenna always has fun hair, or something new to challenge me. This time we were taking her emerald/teal hair and creating a soft brunette with some balayage. Sign me up! To color correct this these are the formulas and products I used to create this new look for Brenna.

When you think of Seattle, many thing Pike Place, Coffee, Cuisine, Adventure, Mountains and just and epicenter for so much awesome. I also will add, dogs, doggos and pups are everywhere. I was firsthand witness to this! It's so awesome how many embrace animal appreciation here. I even got the exclusive tour of the the wag N' wash.
Five days in the Emerald city was truly great. We look forward to our return.
